Lifestyle & Concierge

The practical side of a well-run life: motorsport and event access, private travel design, household staffing and estate management, security coordination, education placement for the next generation and medical concierge across our network.

Overview

A well run life is planned, not improvised

This practice serves families whose lives run across several countries at once: a principal working between Douala and Paris, children at school in England, a household in Johannesburg, summers in the south of France. Each of those threads can be managed separately, by different agencies of varying quality. Our clients prefer one office that knows the whole picture and holds it in confidence.

Engagements run on planning horizons, not on last minute requests. The Formula 1 season is mapped in the autumn before it begins. School applications start eighteen months to two years ahead of entry. Household recruitment follows a written role profile and proper references, and security is arranged only through licensed, insured providers whose credentials we verify ourselves. We coordinate; we do not improvise, and we do not hand your name to providers we have not vetted.

The discipline shows in the file we keep for each family: who has been vetted, what has been contracted, what is planned for the year ahead, and who inside AfriOne is allowed to know it. A family relocating to Dar es Salaam recently asked us to prepare their arrival. Within one mandate we recruited and contracted household staff, completed a security assessment of the residence through a licensed local firm, and placed both children in their preferred schools for the following September. One team, one report, no loose ends.

01

Motorsport & F1 Access

We plan motorsport access season by season, not race by race. Each autumn we sit with clients who follow Formula 1 and the major endurance events, agree which rounds matter to them, and secure paddock hospitality, garage tours and grandstand or suite positions well before public allocation. Relationships with teams and hospitality providers, built over years of repeat attendance, are what make the difference between a ticket and an experience.

Around the racing itself we arrange everything the weekend requires: flights and helicopter transfers where circuits justify them, accommodation held from the previous season, restaurant tables in cities that are impossible on race weekends, and driving experiences at circuits for clients who want the wheel rather than the balcony. One itinerary, one contact, no improvisation on the day.

  • Season plan agreed before the calendar sells out
  • Paddock hospitality and team access at selected rounds
  • Accommodation and transfers held in advance
  • Race weekend dining and evening programme
  • Circuit driving experiences arranged with insured operators

Travel Design & Private Itineraries

Private travel is planned to the hour and in writing. We design itineraries around how you actually travel: aircraft or first commercial, villas, private residences or suites, and the pacing that suits your family rather than a brochure. Every property and operator on an AfriOne itinerary has been used by us or vetted directly; we do not book from lists we have not tested.

The value shows in the details that cannot be bought at the door: residences that are not publicly listed, tables at restaurants booked out for months, guides and skippers we know by name, and a plan B already in place for weather or delay. While you travel, one coordinator remains reachable across time zones, and changes are handled without you repeating your requirements to anyone.

  • Written itinerary planned to the hour
  • Aircraft, villas and residences booked through vetted operators
  • Access to properties and tables not publicly available
  • Contingency planning for weather and delay
  • One reachable coordinator for the whole journey
  • Discretion on movements and guest lists throughout

Event Access

Galas, fashion weeks, film festivals, sporting finals and private previews run on invitation lists that close early. We track those calendars through the year and place requests months ahead, so that when a client decides to attend, the invitation, the hospitality and the seating already exist. Where an event is genuinely closed, we say so plainly rather than promise what cannot be delivered.

Attendance is managed as carefully as access. We coordinate dress codes and protocol where they apply, arrange arrivals that avoid unnecessary attention, brief security where a client requires it, and hold dinner and after event plans so the evening has a shape. Your name is shared with organisers only to the extent required, and never with the press.

  • Invitations and hospitality secured before public availability
  • Seating and table placement negotiated in advance
  • Protocol and dress code guidance where relevant
  • Discreet arrivals and departures coordinated with security
  • Dinner and evening programme around the event

Household Staffing & Estate Management

A household runs on its people. We recruit house managers, chefs, drivers, nannies and security staff through a process closer to executive search than to a staffing agency: a written role profile, a shortlist interviewed by us before you meet anyone, references verified by direct conversation, and background checks appropriate to the role. Security roles are filled only through licensed providers.

Once staff are in place, we make the arrangement durable. Contracts are drawn properly under local employment law, payroll and social contributions are administered correctly, house manuals record how the residence is to be run, and we conduct scheduled reviews so small issues are addressed before they become departures. Households in more than one country are managed to one consistent standard.

  • Written role profiles and structured search
  • Reference verification by direct conversation
  • Background checks appropriate to each role
  • Compliant contracts and payroll administration
  • House manuals and scheduled performance reviews
  • One standard across residences in multiple countries

Personal Security Coordination

AfriOne is not a security company, and that is deliberate. We coordinate protective services through licensed, insured providers in each country, selected against written criteria: licensing verified with the regulator, insurance confirmed, personnel vetted, and conduct standards agreed in the contract. Clients get the benefit of professional protection without having to evaluate an industry that is difficult to judge from outside.

Coordination is where we add the most: a residence assessment before a family moves in, advance work before travel, close protection for public appearances, and secure ground transport that meets the aircraft. Arrangements are reviewed after each engagement and adjusted, and details of a client's movements are held within a small named team and shared with providers only as required.

  • Licensed and insured providers only, verified with regulators
  • Residence security assessments and upgrades
  • Travel advance work and secure ground transport
  • Close protection for public appearances
  • Confidential handling of movements and schedules
  • Post engagement review of every arrangement

Education Placement

School and university placement runs on fixed calendars, and the families who succeed are the ones who start early. We advise on leading schools and universities in the UK, Europe and North America, beginning ideally eighteen months to two years before entry: honest assessment of the child's profile, a realistic shortlist, and a timetable of registration deadlines, entrance tests and interviews that we then manage to the day.

Through the application cycle we coordinate registrations, entrance examination preparation with vetted tutors, interview practice and school visits, and we deal with admissions offices in the manner they expect. After an offer, we assist with guardianship arrangements where boarding requires them, and remain the family's point of contact with the school. A family in Douala engaged us two years before their son's entry to a British boarding school; he held offers from two of his three choices.

  • Assessment and realistic school shortlist
  • Application calendar managed to fixed deadlines
  • Entrance test preparation with vetted tutors
  • Interview preparation and accompanied school visits
  • Guardianship arrangements for boarding pupils
  • Ongoing liaison with the school after entry

Medical & Wellness Concierge

When a family faces a medical question, speed and the right specialist matter more than anything else we do. We maintain relationships with leading specialists and private clinics in Paris, London, Geneva and Johannesburg, and we arrange priority consultations, second opinions and planned treatment, with medical records transferred securely and translated where needed before the first appointment.

Around the clinical care we handle everything else: flights, including air ambulance where a physician advises it, accommodation for the family near the clinic, interpreters, and coordination between the treating team and the family's own doctor at home. Medical information is handled by a small named team and never discussed beyond it. For planned care, we also arrange annual executive health assessments at the same institutions.

  • Priority consultations with leading specialists
  • Second opinions arranged across our clinic network
  • Secure transfer and translation of medical records
  • Travel, accommodation and air ambulance logistics
  • Liaison between treating team and home physicians
  • Annual executive health assessments

How a lifestyle mandate begins

Most families begin with a single need, a season of racing, a school search, a household to staff, and extend the mandate once they have seen how we work. Every engagement is documented, priced in writing and run by a named partner team.

Initial consultation

A confidential conversation about your household, your calendar and where you want the friction removed.

02

Scope and mandate letter

A written mandate recording the services engaged, the planning calendar, confidentiality terms and fees.
